"It is with great satisfaction that G3 Shieldings Technology, Inc. is
moving to the Franklin, Kentucky area." said CEO John Guthrie. "Since
the search for a location began and we decided to start up in
Franklin, Christine Hart and I have received an overwhelming response
from the community. The support and guidance that we received from the
Industrial Authority has been top-notch. This is mainly accredited to
Dennis Griffin and his desire to make this community succeed, but the
support goes farther than that. The Industrial Authority Chairman Gary
Broady, City Manager Jim Brown, and other local leaders have shown us
a side to the community that really gives us a good feeling about
being here. We wanted to be a business that can be actively involved
with the community and I think that we have found a place that will
support and encourage that. I feel that Franklin, Kentucky will be a
place that G3 Shieldings can call home."
Herbert Williams, Mayor of the City of Franklin expressed his pleasure
of the announcement of this new industry for Franklin "this is
certainly welcome news for our community particularly in these hard
economic times. We look forward to G3 Shieldings becoming a vital part
of our industrial community."
County Judge Executive Jim Henderson stated that " this is our third
new industrial announcement in the past three months. I really believe
the economy is beginning to look more positive in the Franklin-Simpson
County area. We certainly are pleased with the announcement of these
new jobs for Franklin."
"G3 Shieldings Technology will be occupying 18,000 square feet of the
Petroferm Building with plans to eventually occupy all 33,000 square
feet of the building. Hiring is to begin in mid March. We hope to have
forty employees by the end of the year" said John Guthrie. "We are
anxious to get started in production because there is a lot of
interest in our products."
