Huish Detergents, Inc., a household cleaning and personal care product company will open a new distribution center in Franklin. The company will be occupying the 200,000 square foot available industrial building located in the Sanders Interstate Industrial Park. The building is owned by Red Rock Partners, a Franklin, Kentucky corporation.

The new distribution center will be dedicated to the White Rain brand of products, a company owned by Huish. The nationally known products include shampoos, conditioners, mousse, gel, body wash, and hair spray. Bobby Harris, Warehouse Manager for Huish Detergents expressed “his appreciation to Dennis Griffin of the Franklin-Simpson Industrial board and Mayor Jim Brown for their assistance and support in regard to the location of the project. Franklin is close to our manufacturing facility in Bowling Green. An available building near the interstate was ideal for this new distribution center” said Harris.

Gary Broady, Chairman of the Franklin-Simpson Industrial Board said the “announcement was a great way to close out our industrial development activity for 2007. We are very pleased to have Huish Detergents as a part of our community.”

“I enjoyed working with Bobby Harris and believe the new distribution facility will be a positive addition to the area” stated Mayor Jim Brown.

County Judge Executive Jim Henderson noted that “Huish is the second major distribution facility in the Sanders East Industrial park. Camping World located its East Coast operations there two years ago. I am really pleased to see a great mixture of manufacturing and distribution jobs in the Sanders Park.”

The Huish Distribution warehouse will operate five days a week with two shifts and will ship 25 truck loads of products per day. Some 25 new jobs will be created at the facility. An annual payroll of greater than $1,000,000.00 is expected.
